My name is Danielle Silverman, CEO & Founder. I am a self-taught formulator, soap maker and herbalist. After suffering from skin conditions like body acne and eczema, I was inspired to create natural skincare products free of the chemicals that were wreaking havoc on my skin.
Background
From the age of eight, I was classically trained in voice, guitar and piano. I loved songwriting, but was also passionate about nature and social causes. This led me to pursue a double major in International Relations and Spanish from the University of Miami.
After graduating, I spent years teaching music, songwriting, performing and directing a non-profit music school for underserved youth. Though the work was meaningful, it ultimately left me unfulfilled.
Turning Point
Meanwhile, I was learning about the climate crisis and my love for nature started to take precedence. In 2016, I went vegan and “zero waste” to minimize my environmental impact. These changes would have a deeper personal impact than I could have ever imagined.
My digestion improved and my hormones rebalanced. I lost weight, gained a ton of energy and my skin issues, like face/body acne and eczema, dramatically healed. These results were compounded when I started making my own skincare as a means to avoid plastic waste and animal products.
Ultimately, the natural deodorant brands I was using stopped working for me, so I decided to make my own. This would become my first ever Live Like You Green It product, Tea Tree & Lavender Deodorant Cream.
